How do I back date a SOAP note to reflect the actual visit date?

When you "Express a note, it automatically defaults to today's date.  If you would like to change the date of the note, you may do this either before yous Save the New note, or after you save the note.

Change Date on Express (New) Note

Once you Express a new note and are happy with the results, you can modify the date of the note in the upper left corner of the Documents Window.  Look for the date field with today's date, and click the arrow to open a calendar to change the date.

Change Date on Saved (Prior) Note

Once you have saved a note, you can change the date on the Prior tab using the following steps:

  1. Click the Prior tab on the Documents Window.
  2. Right-click on the date of the note you wish to change.
  3. Choose Properties.
  4. Click the arrow to the right of the date on the Edit SOAP Note Details Window and use the calendar to set the appropriate date.

NOTE:  It is not necessary to change the time as it is used as an index and does not appear in the printed note.
