How do I Edit/ Delete a Transaction

You can edit or delete a transaction.  While editing, edit  an existing line item, add a new line item, and/or delete a single line item.  Additionally, you may delete the entire transaction.

Choosing the transaction

The first step for any of the above, is to find the transaction in the Ledger:

  1. Open the patient chart.
  2. Click the Ledger icon on the left site of the Front Desk.
  3. Click Display for ALL transactions, or make the appropriate selections in the Find Transactions box, then click Display.
  4. Find the transaction you want to work with.
  5. Right-click the transaction and choose Edit Receipt.

Now that you have the transaction open, you may edit it or delete it.

Deleting the entire transaction

  1. To delete the entire transaction, click the Clear Receipt button just below the transaction grid on the right. 
  2. Click Save (floppy disk) to "Save" the blank transaction.

Editing a receipt

Once you have the receipt open, you may make changes to the provider, dates, amounts, as well as where the transaction will be billed.  

You may also add or delete line items.

Adding new line items

To add a line item while editing a receipt, click on the next line and enter the Catalog ID of the procedure you wish to add. Click the floppy disk to Save

Inserting a new line item

You may also 'insert' a line item between two (2) existing line items while editing a receipt:  

  1. Click on the line item below where you want to insert a new line.
  2. Hold down your Ctrl key and press the Insert (INS) key on the keyboard (Ctrl+INS).
  3. A new blank line item will be added above the line you selected.
  4. Enter the Catalog ID for the procedure.
  5. Click the Floppy Disk to Save.

Deleting a single line item

Instead of 'clearing' the receipt, you may choose to only delete certain line items on the receipt.  To delete a single line item while editing a receipt:

  1. Click on the line item you wish to delete.
  2. Hold down your Ctr key and press the Delete (Del) key (Ctrl+Del).
  3. Repeat as necessary. 
  4. Click the Floppy Disk to Save
