How do I use the Missing Progress Notes Report?

The Missing Progress Notes report is designed to be run prior to creating insurance claims.

The report looks for any insurance transactions, not on an insurance claim, that do not have a corresponding SOAP note in MyEMR for Windows.

The report lists the patients in alphabetical order and lists the date(s) that are missing notes.

You run the report from:

Tools > Reports > Missing Progress Notes

There is no criteria to enter for the report.  It will generate when you click on Missing Progress Notes.

The Missing Progress Notes report will:

  • List all patients with insurance transactions that are not on an insurance claim; missing a corresponding SOAP note.

The Missing Progress Notes report will not:

  • List missing notes for patients that do not have insurance transactions (cash patients).
  • List missing notes for transactions that have already been generated on an insurance claim.

If you have already created insurance claims or have cash patients you want to be sure have notes for a date or date range, you can run the following two (2) reports and compare them to verify you have notes for each transaction, as well as transactions for all notes:

EMR Datacenter:
Tools > Reports > Transaction Recap (see Transaction Recap)

MyEMR for Windows:
Tools > Reports > Visit Recap (see Visit Recap)
